T-Boy
As imagens que vêem em baixo são do T-Boy, que faz parte da exposição (a primeira a solo de Shin Tanaka) — que teve lugar recentemente na Compound Gallery. “The T-Boy Show” é constituída por 30 bonecos em papel e resulta da ligação entre a Adidas e Shin Tanaka — e 8 artistas diferentes (incluindo Shin) que interviram sobre o boneco.
“…Then he made a small paper sneaker from a paper so that he can collect his favorite all sneakers and display them on his desk. He had thought of this as just a private hobby, but it didn’t stay private for long.
He put the paper sneakers photos on his website one day and lots of people expressed that they loved his small paper sneakers. Finally, his paper sneakers were displayed in a showcase of NIKE design library.
His next paper model was a boy-style figure “T-BOY” (Sep. 2005), of course it was based on a HIPHOP fashion (T-shirt, pants and sneaker). He made the T-BOYs with his own favorite design. Trend spotter never miss out T-BOY! T-BOY made him famous by word-of-mouth. Collaborated partner introduced him to a new partner. T-BOY was a white canvas for apparel brands and graffiti writers. Shin has worked with over 20 brands and artists on T-BOY for only 6 months. But his models are all handmade, it still takes considerable time for a model. He continues making some in his spare time when not studying…”
