Eu pessoalmente detesto papel de parede, mas o Solar Powered Wallpaper, criado por Marta Lwin, Ty Whitfield, Teresita Cochran e Ramakrishnan Subramanian no decurso das aulas sobre energias sustentáveis (Sustainable Energy Class at ITP) é bem interessante. Materiais electroluminescentes são entretecidos com o padrão do papel de parede e um sensor de luz que o permite determinar se a sala necessita de luz. Quando a luz na sala é a suficiente, os elementos electroluminescentes funcionam como decoração.

Dentro da óptica do papel de parede, o Interactive Wallpaper de Dario Buzzini “rocks”! O papel de parede liga-se ao computador e serve para visualizar imagens de baixa resolução e até para ler textos e emails.

he wallpaper can display text and images according to the input received from a computer.The wallpaper works like a low resolution and low refresh rate display, giving you the possibility to change patterns and contents on your walls. For example you can read your emails or SMS, but also view the images taken with your mobile phone camera. The function is that of decorating our home environments in a new and constantly changing way. In productive terms, it is interesting to note that this project started like a thesis project and then developed in a real commercial product. At the exhibition will be shown a new re-engineered version.
